{Heather & Marc} A winter engagement session at the Arboretum

This past Sunday I had the pleasure of hanging out with Heather and Marc (and creating some images along the way). I’ve been friends with Heather since high school, so when she asked Ivanette and I to photograph her wedding to Marc this coming October, it truly was an honor. Heather and Marc are both genuinely sincere, honest and loyal people.

Enjoy the preview, and again, a big thanks to Heather & Marc for allowing us to be part of their big day!

{Shannon & James} A winter wedding at Strathmere’s Lodge

If you’ve ever met with us about your wedding, you’ll know that all we ask of our couples is that you bring emotion. Well, we had nothing to worry about at Shannon & James’ wedding! We had a great day for weather at Strathmere this past January, with light snow turning into a nice heavy snowfall for the end of their ceremony. When Shannon and James met with us, we chatted about timing and decided that a first look was the best fit for great images given their ceremony was at 4pm, and we would have only had 30 minutes of daylight after their ceremony. We created a little bit of suspense with James as he was waiting for his bride to arrive!

I had a pleasure capturing the emotion of their day, and I hope that you enjoy the preview!

{Trish & Jason} A day after session in Montego Bay, Jamaica

We had the pleasure of photographing Trish & Jason’s Wedding this January in Montego Bay, Jamaica and had a blast hanging out with them for the week. One of the benefits of bringing your photographer with you is a day after session. We spent the day Monday traveling around Montego Bay, Jamaica scouting locations with them, so that we could make the most of our time the day after their wedding.

{Trish & Jason} Destination Wedding in Montego Bay Jamaica

Well, what a January we’ve had! After taking some time off for Christmas to spend with Ivanette and baby Tavis, I have a conversation with Trish, as she tells me how disappointed she was with the quality of the photographer recommended by the resort, one thing leads to another, and the next day Trish, Jason and Kirsten were sitting in our studio chatting with us about what they were looking for in their wedding photography. They had a small wedding, but Trish knew that one thing she wanted was great photos. Next thing you know we’re flying off to Jamaica.

We had great weather at the RIU Montego Bay, Jamaica for their beach side wedding. Enjoy the preview, and stay tuned for their day after photos!

{Self Portrait}

After being inspired by a competition on www.rocktheshotforum.com/ to post a self portrait, I thought it was a great idea! As some of you may know, that in addition to being a photographer, I’m also a volunteer firefighter. This is me with my son Tavis, who was 1 week old at the time.

{Chelsea & Scott} An engagement in Calabogie

I first met Chelsea when I photographed her brother Matt’s wedding in the fall of 2009. Their family was amazing, and both of them are so outgoing, I know I’m going to have a blast at Chelsea & Scott’s wedding this coming summer! Chelsea and Scott chose his family’s hunt camp up near Calabogie for their session since that’s where he proposed. We had a great day with lots of sun back in October!
