We had a blast capturing Miss A’s boudoir session, and even more thrilled that she’s allowed us to share these images with you!
It’s a pleasure to now be able to blog our boudoir work! With the old blog design, it wasn’t possible to keep the boudoir and wedding post separate, but now, they are separated. To start off, here is Miss R’s boudoir session that we captured in our professional studio. It’s not often that we are given permission to post images, especially being able to include a woman’s face online. Miss R has given us full permission to share her images. Let us know what you think in the comments
On October 16, Brian and I had a really fun afternoon photographing an engagement session for Rebecca and Neal at the Governor General’s Residence. Rebecca and I worked together a long time ago in the Emergency Room at the Civic Hospital–what I know of Becky is that she is truly an exceptional person and RN–she is a constant patient advocate and is the type of person who does the right thing…purely because it’s the right thing to do. I’ve often heard her speak of Neal, and have always had an impression of a good, honest, gentleman, the kind that doesn’t come along everyday. When she contacted me about photographing their engagement photos, I was really happy that Brian and I would have a part to play in their lives leading up to their vintage inspired wedding in 2011.
Rebecca, Neal, and their adorable poodle made for amazing subjects, and their willingness to shoot in some pretty cool places has made for some images that we are really proud of. I hope you’ve enjoyed them as much as we did in making them, and I wish all the best for Rebecca and Neal!
Today we had the pleasure of photographing our first triplets! A big thank you to their amazing (and brave) parents Brigitte and Keith for a great afternoon. The triplets were on their best behaviour, we barely heard a complaint.

Here are a few images from today:
We first met Val & Marc at the spring Wedding Show. Ivanette had a great long chat with them about their wedding plans for October 2010, and how they were looking for a photographer who thought outside the box. Yes, originally this happy couple was going to take their time to plan their wedding. However, about a month later they contacted us, stating that Marc was to be deployed with the military and they had to move their wedding up to this year. After many frantic phone calls, we finally found a date that worked for their venue, the Renfrew Golf Club, as well as ourselves. Val & Marc had a wonderful (but chilly) ceremony and reception that highlighted their personalities and the love they have for each other.
So a little background information on the first photo. I had seen it done about two years ago and have been waiting for the perfect couple to pull it off. Val & Marc are full of life and it seemed like a great fit! There is no doubt that Marc trusts his beautiful new wife!
Even Val’s cat, Abbie, had to make sure the details were purrfect!
Val and Marc decided to change things up, and shoot First Look photos at the clubhouse before the ceremony. It was such a relaxing time and Marc’s reaction to his bride in her gorgeous gown was priceless.
So, October weddings in the Ottawa Valley can either be beautifully warm or brutally cool…hence the adorable mittens!
Val’s sister, Alison, was her Maid of Honour, which included many hours of shopping, planning, and overall sisterly-ness in the months of planning.
So, weekend off! We are still going to a wedding, but this time as a guest. My cousin Ryan is getting married in Toronto. We attended their rehersal dinner last night. Now, I really could not leave the camera behind, I’d be lost! Ivy and I had such a great time with the family! Looking forward to the wedding today!
Rarely does a photographer find a bride who is so in tune with a concept for a photo shoot that she actually says “I could…” and volunteer to do something amazing for a shot before I get the chance to ask. Tammy and Jay were married last December in Cuba, and got in contact with us a few months ago regarding a Trash the Dress session. They live in a picturesque little village on the outskirts of Ottawa, and they have an incredible view of the water right from their house!
Ivy and I had the pleasure of spending the morning with them on their boat today, almost having too much fun to consider it work. The water was warm, the wind was cool, and the photos are incredible!
This past Sunday, Eden and David tied the knot at Orchardview, located in the south end of Ottawa in the beautiful village of Manotick. They had a gorgeous day for their wedding; the sun even cooperated, which has been rare around here lately! Their ceremony truly celebrated their love and committment to each other and their darling daughter Emily. She even had a stunning little red dress to match mommy’s! I actually went to high school with Eden and all of her lovely bridesmaids, and even worked with them on occasion. After high school, however, with moving, and college, and new careers, we lost contact with each other. That was until Eden stumbled across my ad on Facebook! I am so glad Ivanette and I were able to share in their day and capture the memories of their truly unique ceremony.

This Sunday we got together with an amazing couple Val and Marc. We will be capturing their wedding this October! We met them at the spring wedding show in Ottawa and had a good little chat with them, not too long after that we received an e-mail from “the fun couple” and we knew exactly who it was! We are definitely proud to be their photographers and are looking forward to their wedding just outside of Ottawa in Renfrew!
