{Carolyn & Justin} A cottage wedding near Kingston
I had the pleasure of meeting with Carolyn and her parents one evening at the studio after another local photographer referred her father to us for Carolyn’s wedding this past October. I didn’t get the chance to meet Justin until Ivy and I went down to their marina near Kingston for their engagement session. Justin and his family were so welcoming and we had the opportunity to enjoy a nice home cooked meal after their session.
Carolyn and Justin’s wedding was a reflection of their down to earth, relaxed personalities. The weather wasn’t the greatest, and we had a very brief 15 minute window to capture their formal photos outdoors. We made it thanks to their families and bridal party being great at pretending it wasn’t cold or raining! If you look close enough, we did get caught in a sun shower!

{Karen & Agostino} The Engagement
Ivanette worked with Karen a few years ago at her first job after moving to Ottawa for University. Over the years they had lost contact, but once Karen saw Ivanette at our booth in the Ottawa Wedding show, it was quite the reunion! Karen and Agostino are an amazing couple, full of energy and laughter! We’re looking forward to photographing their wedding this November!

{Carolyn & Justin} Engagement session on the water near Kingston Ontario
This past Sunday Ivanette and I had one of the most relaxing engagement sessions. A few months ago, we had the pleasure of meeting with Carolyn and her parents at the studio to discuss their photography needs. We learnt the story about how Carolyn first met Justin. Justin works at a Marina that services a small lake just north of Kingston, where Carolyn’s family would spend the summer at their cottage. Over the years, Carolyn would routinely take the boat down to the marina to fill it up with gas. With a little encouragement from their families, and a few years later, Carolyn and Justin started dating, the rest is just history. We thought that the most fitting place for their engagement photos would be the marina where everything started.
We spend an hour around the marina, where Justin is also building their house overlooking the lake, then had the pleasure of going out on the lake for some amazing photos. When everything was done, we enjoyed a great home made dinner courtesy of Carolyn! Time on the water and great food, what else could we ask for!

{Henna Maternity} A glowing Mother to be
This weekend I had the pleasure of photographing Sajida’s maternity session in Kingston. They had the lovely henna artist, Shafeena, produce stunning artwork on her. It was easy to tell that Sajida and her husband Zumil are very proud parents and excited about the arrival of their first child!

{Heather & Tom} The Engagement

We first had the opportunity to meet Heather a few months ago at a Starbucks in Ottawa for an initial consultation. She had had a long day interviewing vendors for their wedding, but despite us being the one of the last meetings of the day, that “connection” we all hope for with clients was evident from the get-go. She told us about her chance first meeting with her fiance Tom, and even while regaling us with the hilarious details, her genuine love and adoration for him shone through.
{NGHA Hockey} – Ottawa Photographer
This weekend I’ve been out working with my father of Hargreaves Photography at the 30th Annual Nepean Girls Hockey Tournament here in Ottawa. It’s been a busy 3 days, starting from the first game at 8am until the last game finishes at 10pm! Who ever said us photographers had it easy! The games have been very well played, with close 1 goal games for the most part. If you missed us, check out my father’s website for updates on where we will be next and to check out more photos

Custom wedding guestbooks
It’s about time I blogged about our new guestbooks! This is something that we have introduced this year. They have been a major hit at weddings.
These guestbooks are completely different from an ordinary guestbook, there are no lines. We have found that guests will get ideas of what to write from the photos, there have been many great comments over the last year in the guestbooks.
The standard guestbook is an 8×8 Perfect bound album with 40 pages. They are also available as a flush mount album. Depending on how many guests you will be hosting, I will vary the number of pages and the size of the photos so that there is enough room for everybody to leave a comment, but not too much so that the book is full.
Here are a few pages from one of our guestbooks before it was signed:
