{Jennifer & Matt} A country engagement near Pakenham
If you follow me on Twitter, you’ll know that this past Sunday Ivanette and I had two engagement sessions. Both couples are Jennifer & Matt, and both have their wedding in October of this year. I’m not sure what the odds of that are! For our first session of the day, we had the pleasure of capturing Jennifer & Matt at the farm she manages. Jennifer is a 7th generation farmer. Even with the heat, we had a nice relaxing afternoon in the fields. We finished their session off by cooling off in the water beneath the historic Pakenham 5 span bridge.

{Carolyn & Justin} Engagement session on the water near Kingston Ontario
This past Sunday Ivanette and I had one of the most relaxing engagement sessions. A few months ago, we had the pleasure of meeting with Carolyn and her parents at the studio to discuss their photography needs. We learnt the story about how Carolyn first met Justin. Justin works at a Marina that services a small lake just north of Kingston, where Carolyn’s family would spend the summer at their cottage. Over the years, Carolyn would routinely take the boat down to the marina to fill it up with gas. With a little encouragement from their families, and a few years later, Carolyn and Justin started dating, the rest is just history. We thought that the most fitting place for their engagement photos would be the marina where everything started.
We spend an hour around the marina, where Justin is also building their house overlooking the lake, then had the pleasure of going out on the lake for some amazing photos. When everything was done, we enjoyed a great home made dinner courtesy of Carolyn! Time on the water and great food, what else could we ask for!

{Melissa & Keith} A stunning country engagement session
Well, this was a close one! Both Melissa and I were watching last Friday’s weather like a hawk. Even just before heading to Renfrew, I did a check on every weather source I had available! After meeting Melissa & Keith in Renfrew to grab a couple quick shots with their dog, we headed out to the ball field in Dacre, where as Keith put it, “the magic happened”. It was 3 years ago at the annual Dacre ball tournament that Melissa and Keith met, and baseball continues to be one of the ways they spend their time together. When we arrived at the ball diamond, the rain had started! We waited for about 15 minutes and it passed. Just as we were finishing up, the rain came back and we headed out to the 300 acre family hunt camp for some photos among the dilapidated buildings that were once an early settlement.
Ivanette and I are looking forward to their wedding this October! Enjoy the preview:

{Nick & Jingjing} Engagement session in Pembroke
I’ve been looking forward to Nick & Jingjing’s engagement session since they mentioned bringing their fencing equipment! Jinjing suggested the marina in Pembroke, which had the old abandoned rail bridge nearby. The group of teenagers fishing off of the bridge was a little surprised when we came up with fencing gear, but they didn’t seem to mind!

{Kelly & Derek} A wedding engagement session at Ottawa’s Hogs Back Falls
Kelly and Derek had met and booked us almost a year ago, so it was really nice to get to see them again and spend a nice Sunday afternoon strolling around Hogs Back falls for a couple hours. They are such a genuinely romantic couple, and we are looking forward to their wedding this July!

{Fanny & Steve} Remic Rapids Engagement
Fanny and Steve were absolutely amazing to work with this past Sunday! We met downtown to photograph their engagement session by the water. With the threat of rain and thunder storms, we moved quickly, which was made easy by Fanny & Steve’s passion and energy for each other! Ivanette and I can’t wait for their wedding!
