{Trish & Jason} A day after session in Montego Bay, Jamaica
We had the pleasure of photographing Trish & Jason’s Wedding this January in Montego Bay, Jamaica and had a blast hanging out with them for the week. One of the benefits of bringing your photographer with you is a day after session. We spent the day Monday traveling around Montego Bay, Jamaica scouting locations with them, so that we could make the most of our time the day after their wedding.

{Trish & Jason} Destination Wedding in Montego Bay Jamaica
Well, what a January we’ve had! After taking some time off for Christmas to spend with Ivanette and baby Tavis, I have a conversation with Trish, as she tells me how disappointed she was with the quality of the photographer recommended by the resort, one thing leads to another, and the next day Trish, Jason and Kirsten were sitting in our studio chatting with us about what they were looking for in their wedding photography. They had a small wedding, but Trish knew that one thing she wanted was great photos. Next thing you know we’re flying off to Jamaica.
We had great weather at the RIU Montego Bay, Jamaica for their beach side wedding. Enjoy the preview, and stay tuned for their day after photos!

In addition to the preview of the images from Trish & Jason’s wedding that were posted to Facebook, here’s a sneak peek from their day after session:

{Sandra & Mark} A destination wedding in Montego Bay, Jamaica
It was a little less than a year ago when we connected with Sandra in Alberta about her upcoming destination wedding in Jamaica. Early on Sandra and Mark realized that if they wanted quality photography for their wedding, it was best to bring a photographer (or two) along with them. Ivanette and I have been looking forward to this great opportunity ever since then. Sandra and Mark are a wonderful couple and we thoroughly enjoyed spending a week with both of their amazing families.
While in Jamaica we photographed both the wedding and a day after, also known as a Trash the Dress, session. Having two days of photography has provided them with a wide variety of images of their wedding.
We hope you enjoy the images as much as we did creating them:

{Frances & Shaun} Vintage wedding at Port Hope Golf and Country Club
When Frances and Shaun began telling us about their wedding, we had never been to Port Hope. To get ourselves prepared, we did some research on Penryn Mansion, built in 1859, which sits on the picturesque Port Hope Golf and Country Club, and were instantly excited! We were even more pleased when we arrived in Port Hope, as everything is so much more beautiful than we had imagined.
Frances got ready for the ceremony on site, and it gave us plenty of photo opportunities…

Shaun and his guys got ready at the condo of Frances’ brother, which was a super cool converted historic school!

Shaun wore his grandfather’s railway watch, which had been carefully restored for their wedding day.

Frances wore a beautiful chiffon dress from Sinders Bridal House, which was perfect!

One of the major highlights of our day was photographing the groom’s ride…a stunning liquid blue Lotus Evora!

Taking a peak of the beautiful ceremony site…

All 3 of Frances’ attendants travelled far distances to be with her on her wedding day, and the stories of their long standing friendships were pretty inspiring.

Seriously, these two looked at each other like this all day–it was really amazing to see how they got lost in each other’s eyes so quickly…

Port Hope Golf and Country Club has so many little spots for great photos! This old barn on the property was one of our favorite spots.

The bouquets were made by Holton Flowers and had fresh cut lavender from a farm in the county–the scent of lavendar literally filled the mansion!

Shaun’s custom made suit and hand-tied bow tie made for a dapper look!

I am seriously in love with this one…

There are some amazing old growth trees still on the property and they seem to filter light just to make photographers swoon…

The pool at the Golf and Country Club was perfect for the cocktail hour and some interesting photos!

What can I say about their cake? It was unique, it was delicious, it was cheese! If you take a closer look, their “topper” was handmade to totally represent them–even with Charlie Brown the dog and Gregory Peck the bird!

This was one of the last photos we took that night, and the pool looked gorgeous…even the falling leaves of September made for some spectacular ambiance…

{Sandra & Mark } Destination: Jamaica – The engagement
So our engagement session with Sandra and Mark this past Saturday had a new element for us–it was the first time we’ve met this awesome couple face to face! You see, Sandra and Mark live in Edmonton, Alberta and hired us through a combination of website, email, and telephone! The coolest part? We’ll be capturing their wedding memories in beautiful Montego Bay, Jamaica! Neither Brian nor I have been there yet, so that makes this amazing opportunity that much more exciting for the two of us.
Sandra grew up in the Ottawa Valley, and Mark is a fellow Nova Scotian, so that should give you any idea of how much fun these guys are! We thoroughly enjoyed meeting them, spending an afternoon with them, and are so very happy that we get to go adventuring together in new parts of the world this winter. I hope you enjoy their images as much as we enjoyed making them!
