Happy Mother’s Day!
In honour of Mother’s Day, I’ve compiled a collection of some of our favourite photos of mothers from over the years!
Santa is supporting the Young Awards
This December, come visit the studio on the 15th and 16th of December to have your children’s photos taken with Santa. All proceeds go towards the young awards. Why wait in the long lines at the mall? Come get your photos taken, then take a stroll downtown and explore Almonte while your prints are developed!
{Tavis’ 1st Birthday} A Cookie Monster Birthday Party
Wow, a year sure goes by quickly! A year ago I was photographing back to back weddings, our busiest season, when Mr. Tavis decided he would enter this world. The year has gone by so quickly! Watching him progress from fitting in my forearm to the walking, smiling, laughing little boy he is today. He’s my little work buddy, and keeps the day interesting! We were glad to have all the great family and friends join us to celebrate his first birthday! After a hard day’s work, seeing Ivanette’s face light up as he toddles over to the door squeeling and smiling because mommy’s home is the best part of the day!
Also, a big thanks to my brother Mark for picking up the camera for part of the day!

{Introducing Tavis Eirnan Hargreaves}
On August 26, Brian and I were absolutely blessed when our first son, Tavis Eirnan, arrived in the world. Almost as if to spite my easy pregnancy, he took almost 36 hours to arrive and although difficult, it was an incredible experience.
Since his arrival just over a month ago, we’ve had the usual ups and downs (mostly in the wee hours of the morning!) but he has taught us so much in so little time. We’ve learned that you can exist on very little sleep, getting ready and out the door takes three times longer than it used to, and that he creates far more laundry than any adult I’ve met! However, I’ve also learned that love at first sight truly does exist, and that the enormity of love you have for a child is almost indescribable.
In planning for Tavis’s newborn photos, we wanted to come up with ideas as unique as he is. As some of you may already know, Brian is a volunteer firefighter in Almonte where we live, and we wanted to reflect the pride we have for both. Grandma Hargreaves also spent many hours creating cute outfits for him before he arrived, and those were important for us to include.
I really hope you enjoy the photos of our precious little man as much as we do, and we’ll try not to flood the blog when we have another shoot!

{Baby Ella} is almost 1
Last Friday we had the pleasure of a visit from Jamie and Matt, and their daughter Ella. Ella will turn 1 this September, and Jamie wanted some family photos with all 3 smiling. We actually photographed Jamie and Matt’s wedding back in 2009, which you may remember had a “little” bit of a firefighter theme. Of course we had to continue on the tradition!
{Ivanette} A very special Maternity session
As most of you know, my wife Ivanette and I are expecting a little critter this coming September. Some of you have also been kindly requesting maternity photos! Ivanette and I have had an idea for a while, and were just waiting for the right opportunity.
I was very impressed at Ivanette’s determination, as the stream we were at wasn’t the easiest to navigate. Somehow Ivanette managed to stay on her feet while I was the one who slipped right into the water!

{Henna Maternity} A glowing Mother to be
This weekend I had the pleasure of photographing Sajida’s maternity session in Kingston. They had the lovely henna artist, Shafeena, produce stunning artwork on her. It was easy to tell that Sajida and her husband Zumil are very proud parents and excited about the arrival of their first child!
