We had the pleasure of capturing Carol-Lynn and Kyle’s wedding this past weekend. They had a wonderful location for their wedding ceremony at the Billings Estate Museum, located in the southeast end of Ottawa. The Billings Estate is the oldest frame home in Ottawa and has been designated as a National Historic Site. It was built in 1829 and the same family occupied the residence for five generations until it was sold to the City of Ottawa in 1975.

They were such an adorable couple, they were first introduced when they were 17! After 9 years of being together, Kyle popped the question, and of course, Carol-Lynn said yes!

As a special treat for their guests, the happy couple served frozen ice cream! This used to be a custom in garden weddings of the past, and was quite fitting for the amazing period location!

Their wedding was followed by an elegant reception at the Holiday Inn Select in Kanata. The room was very well put together and everything turned out great!

And of course, during dinner, I borrowed their rings to get this ring shot:

Jennifer and her mother Susan first saw us at the Carp Fair last fall, and fell in love with our work.  Jennifer wasn’t even engaged yet! So when Bobby surprised her this winter with a gorgeous diamond ring, she looked us up and chose us as their wedding photographer. Hockey is a huge part of their lives and they have planned a fabulous hockey themed wedding this August that Ivanette and I will have the pleasure of photographing for them. We got together today for a great engagement photo session in Pakenham and Almonte (30 minutes west of Ottawa) and simply had loads of fun with them! We have great plans to incorporate these photos into their wedding, but that’s a bit of a surprise in the making.

Enjoy the little preview, there were soo many great photos it was very difficult to narrow them down!

A big thank you to Jennifer and Bobby for a great afternoon, despite the cold weather today–you guys rock!

Jennifer: I love them! Thank you so much to both of you for a great day and these beautiful pictures! Can't wait to see the rest! Thanks again guys!

Val and Marc: These pictures have us excited for our engagement photos! Looking forward to the shoot and results!

Earlier this week Danielle and Mike came by with their newborn infant Emily for her first official photos. Danielle used to work with Ivanette, so this was a special treat. Mike has a very busy schedule, so finding the time when he was available was a little tricky, but we made it work! Hope you like them. P.S. Danielle and Mike, you guys are great!

Proposal Photography

May 9, 2009

Getting engaged? Proposal photography is starting to grow in popularity over the last couple years. If you have been planning the perfect way to propose to the most special person in your life, why not capture her surprise, her tears, her complete happiness for years to come?

Prior to your proposal, I will sit down with you and go over the details, such as location, times, and the cue you will use to let me know when to start photographing. If you are looking for the perfect way to propose, I can also help and give ideas, such as planning a family portrait, going to your favorite restaurant, going back to the place you first met, taking her somewhere she’s always wanted to go, trying something new. Most times she is so overwhelmed with emotion she won’t even notice that I have been photographing the whole time!

As a special, I will have 2-3 images prepared for you to e-mail to friends and family within a few hours. You will receive the complete set within a couple weeks.

The fee for my services? The proposal special is completely free! A dvd of web ready images is provided. All I ask is that you consider us as your wedding photographer.

Availability is limited, it is best to contact us with as much notice as possible to ensure we are available!

While in Toronto I got in contact with Kelli, she is such an awesome woman and truly is fearless! Here is a glimpse of her Fearless Bridal session, taken in the Cheltenham Badlands. I had never heard of the badlands before, it seems to be somewhat of a guarded secret in Toronto! It’s a very small area, only about the size of two city blocks, if you blink you would miss it!
